Florist recipe costing

Know the cost before you quote the price.

A quiet calculator for one arrangement at a time: every stem, the waste, the hard goods, your hours. It returns the true cost, a retail price for the margin you choose, and the number a commission still leaves behind.

    Three steps, then a price.

The calculator does one job: turn a recipe into cost and price. It does not guess market rates, look up supplier prices or compare you with anyone else.

    1. 01

      Enter the recipe

Each flower with its stem count and the price you actually paid per stem. Add the vase, foam, ribbon and card as one hard-goods figure.

    2. 02

      Add the quiet costs

Waste on perishables only, the hours on this piece at your own rate, an optional delivery share, and any wire or marketplace commission.

    3. 03

      Choose the margin

Slide to the share of the payout you want to keep. The suggested retail and the commission-adjusted retail update together, with profit and cost per stem.

What is, and is not, in the maths.

No industry averages are baked in. Every figure comes from what you type. The example recipe is a placeholder to show the shape of the numbers — its prices are not claims about what flowers cost where you work.

Waste is charged on flower cost only. Labour is hours multiplied by the rate you enter. Commission is taken from the retail price, and margin is measured against what you actually receive after that commission. Nothing is rounded in your favour silently: retail prices round up to the next cent.

StemCost performs arithmetic on your inputs. It is not accounting, tax or financial advice, and it does not know your market. You decide the costs and the margin.
